Write/refine your artist statement based on the in-class interview task
Interview answers & Artist Statement, 28/11/2022
For this lesson, we were put into pairs and given questions to ask each other. these are pictured below. We were required to listen to the other person’s answers and recount them to the class. this task allowed us to work on our listening skills and better understand our personal style and partner’s style.
Likes the idea of music concrete using sounds as objects to compose with. Through editing adding different effects. Comes from a musical background, classical carries baggage. Concrete people. Music concrete links to the classical idea of absolute music treating music notes as art; pure expression.
Being more experimental. Encompassing the world, being worldly and making something. I hate this.
I suppose it’s experimental music and soundscapes. I want to create something tactile and interactive. Sounds in places, getting into sculptural installations. Working with film.
I think I’d like it to, I want people to engage. Make them consider wider, convey my meanings. Effectively convey what I put into the work. Abstract vibe. For now fine with it just being audio, something you listen to. Less about where it is, I just want it to take someone somewhere else
